is currently hiring a
Convention Services Manager / Event Manager 2.
Responsibilities include: Manages the planning and coordination of Convention Services activities and services to promote the smooth execution of conventions, events and functions requiring meeting services. Commicates group needs across operational departments to ensure that client specifications are met.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or related area. 2 years experience in the event management, food and beverage, or related professional area.
Managing Conference Operations
Manages the planning, execution and supervision of assigned conventions to include sales, negotiations, and conflict resolution.
Communicates all group specifications and history to the appropriate department. Verifies that specifications are implemented and executed to guidelines.
Accurately forecasts group revenues according to established guidelines.
Promotes the proper use of function space, exhibit hall and overall event spaces. Maximizes group revenue by promoting all available goods, services, attractions and sub-contractors to convention groups.
Oversees contracted group room blocks to include cutoff, attrition, etc.
Plans and develops convention programs, resumes, agendas, and services according to client requirements and established guidelines.
Creates external communications to include contract addendums, introductory letters, appropriate property information, and tentative schedule of events for assigned convention groups.
Hosts Planning Meetings, Site Inpections, Pre-Convention Meetings as outlined in departmental guidelines.
Verifies that all conventions adhere to company policies, fire department regulations, state liquor laws and other applicable government regulations.
Participating in and Leading Conference Teams
Promotes client satisfaction through smooth execution of all assigned conventions as measured by pre and post event survey data.
Sets goals and delegates tasks to improve staff performance.
Acts as a liaison to the kitchen staff.
Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of conference events.
Ensuring and Providing Exceptional Customer Service
Sets a positive example for guest relations.
Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
Strives to improve service performance.
Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
Conducting Human Resources Activities
Communicates and executes departmental and property emergency procedures and ensures staff are trained in safety procedures.
Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals.
Monitors progress and leads discussion with staff each period.
Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
