Our Client is Blue Cross (http://www.bluecross.org.uk/). Blue Cross has been dedicated to helping poorly, injured and abandoned pets since 1897. Today it employs over 700 employees and 2,600 volunteers working in 12 rehoming centres and four hospitals.

Role & Responsibilities
Blue Cross is planning to build on these successes by doubling the number of animals it helps over the next few years to fulfil its ambition of being the leading provider and promoter of pet welfare. To achieve this they are making significant investment in fundraising and marketing and the new Director of Fundraising & Marketing will lead this innovative programme for growth and increased awareness.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Fundraising & Marketing will be responsible for strategic planning, people and financial management. The main purpose of the role will be to:

o Work with the Chief Executive and other members of the Executive Team to devise, develop and implement an effective fundraising and marketing strategic plan.
o Lead the Fundraising and Marketing Directorate and its people so that agreed outcomes set out in the strategic plan are met.
o As a member of the Executive Team, work closely with the Chief Executive to develop corporate strategies and an effective working relationship with the trustees.
o Represent Blue Cross to external audiences as required.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will possess a track record of outstanding leadership; inspiring teams to deliver exceptional outcomes in challenging economic environments. You will be a clear and strategic thinker who wins hearts and minds and a track record of building powerful strategic partnerships across sectors.

You will possess experience of devising a successful diverse communication and income generation strategy to include effective monitoring and evaluation, with proven success in a strategic fundraising and/or marketing role in a high-performing customer or donor-focused organisation with multi-strand operations.

With proven financial management skills to include effective budgetary control and the achievement of challenging financial targets, you will possess demonstrable experience of building a sustainable customer or donor base through a wide range of successful attraction strategies.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
